In 1949, Hage's Dairy issued its inaugural production dedicated to the Pacific Coast League players. Produced for three consecutive years, these 2-5/8 x 3-1/8" cards were found inside popcorn boxes that were sold at the concession stand in Lane Field Park, which was home to the P.C.L.'s San Diego Padres. Printed on thin cardstock, these cards feature a strong concentration of the home-town San Diego players—with the balance incorporating representatives from the seven other P.C.L. teams. Includes: 1949 Hage's Dairy (85) - Near set 85 of 106 cards. Highlights include: Easter/Batting Stance, Easter/Batting Follow Through, Harris/Pose, Harris/Shouting, Karpel, Martin and Vaughan. Missing Bridges, Dallessandro, Kerr, Luby, Malone, Marty, Mohr, Oliver, Ostrowski, Partee, Ratto, Russell, Schanz, Sprinz, Tabor/Sacramento, Thompson, Ja. Warner, Ji. Warner, Weyse, F. White and Zak for completion; 1950 Hage's Dairy (66) - Partial set 66 of 126 cards. Highlights include: Minoso/Batting Follow Through, Simpson/Batting Swing, Simpson/Batting Stance, Simpson/Batting Stance/Close Up and Simpson/Batting Follow Through (trimmed); 1951 Hage's Dairy (36) - Partial set 36 of 53 cards. Highlighted by: Olsen/Cleveland. Missing Boone, Clark, Easter, Embree/Foot, Flores, Graham/Portrait, Harris, Jones/Leg, Kerr/Batting, Olsen/San Diego, Reese/Catching, Rosen, Tornay, Tucker, Wietelman/Batting, Wilson/Batting and Zuverink for completion. One card (Maddern) has been signed, and the autograph projects "7" strength. More than 40% of the assembly exhibits stamping, pen/pencil notations, or scrapbook remnants on the reverse. Those condition detriments aside, the assembly ranges in grade, and averages about Very Good.
